ACADEMICS AND NEW CONSTRUCTION
North Central High School in fall of 2014 opened the Institute of Science and Technology. This new building is focused around S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math).
On the top floor there are two of the best high school science labs in the Nation!!! Students have the option of progressing through an advanced curriculum that include biomedical technology, biological solutions, and genomic research – including extracting and amplifying DNA, gene sequencing, genetic fingerprinting, and other sophisticated analytical tools. Along the way, they learn how laboratory sciences can solve real-world problems such as loss of diversity among rare and endangered species. Many previous students have moved into college in science-based fields. Many are working alongside graduate students in university research laboratories.
This winter we will began construction on a brand new two story cafeteria that will be the center of the school and bring the new and old building together.
